  14. I've installed a new 28.8 MVP288IV internal fax/voice mail modem on my
  15. WIN 95 system. With both Hyperterminal and TRUMPET I have this problem
  16. when trying to call the Sportsters (V.34) on my office modem bank.
  17. Most of the time (95%) I get a 21600 baud connection with NO LAPM-M or
  18. compression, which produces a stream of garbage to either application.
  19. I've played with about 50 variations on set-up strings, all with the
  20. same results. If I try again and again, at some point I'll get
  21. PROTOCOL: LAP-M and all is fine. Any suggestions? Could there be something
  22. odd on the Sportsters that cause this behavior? E-mail to Cardinal
  23. tech support seems to be a black hole......all advice is welcome..e-mail
  24. if you've actually solved this problem!
